THE END OF LONLINESS
Animated Short Film | In Development

Logline
A lonely man undergoes a medical procedure that permanently eliminates his need for human connection—with unexpected consequences for the woman who loves him.
Synopsis
In a world where loneliness can be surgically eliminated, a socially isolated man chooses to undergo the procedure. Freed from the pain of needing other people, he becomes happier, more confident, and completely self-sufficient.
But when someone who genuinely wants to connect with him re-enters his life, the cost of his transformation becomes clear. The End of Loneliness is a darkly comic exploration of whether suffering can be removed without also removing something essential about being human.
Director's Statement
The End of Loneliness grew out of a simple question: if loneliness is painful, why not eliminate it?
The film explores loneliness not simply as suffering, but as a biological signal that pushes us toward one another. Through humour, visual storytelling, and speculative science fiction, the film asks what might happen if we gained freedom from that need—and what we might lose in the process.
